Poems

An Abundance of Now.

I miss you.

I miss the feeling of home I had.
That wholesome joy,
The warmth of embrace,
The trust of knowing who we were.
Our infectious smiles,
The life and the soul,
The pure unfiltered giddiness of then,
That I cannot see repeating with another.
You broke me; curtailing my self worth
That I, for years, will spend rebuilding.
I’ll get there.
I’ll build my fort,
This time it won’t be built from carelessly strewn blankets.
There will be structure, and it will be strong.
I can’t wait.
I miss you.

Gregory Lawrence.
